To open the case, you hold it with the front of the case toward yourself, one hand on the body of the case, the other hand needs to push the side of the case backward and then the front of the case will open. When the case is closed After you've taken the cigarette out and close the it, the lighter operates automatically. It dates to the 1940's and it is in excellent condition.
